Sara, Marcos, Guille and Alice were in the academy two days, until they decide to leave. It's very strange because there aren't any zombies in the street. Where are they? Academy suddenly brightened and they reentered and there is the Magic book!! It isn't posible because they give it to the museum. They opened and...

A New Classmate! Talking About my Best Friend.
Tuesday 25th November, 2014
Hello everybody!
Well done! You have worked a
lot. Congratulations to Guille for writing the following episode of the story
and posting it on the blog!
Today we had a new classmate. Welcome Gonzalo.
We told him about the story we are writing and read
the four parts we have so far. Alicia is writing the following episode.
We also told him about our news project. He will
be the presenter together with Alex.
Then, we talked about our best friend, answering
the questions I made you last week.
Sara prepared a song this week.
Thanks everybody for widening (making bigger) my musical knowledge!
Thanks everybody for widening (making bigger) my musical knowledge!
‘All about that bass’
What is this song about? It says that appearance isn’t important and you
don’t have to be skinny (anorexic) to feel happy with yourself.
We played a quiz game in teams. It was a ‘Festivals Quiz’. The winners were
Marcos and Alex. (Their team’s name was ‘The Dumb ones’). Sorry, ‘Sinajo’ you
weren’t very good at this. Next time! (You, all of you can make a comment if
you feel like it)
This quiz showed me that you must revise
ordinal numbers and dates. As well as prepositions
of time. So, don’t forget to do the exercises
on prepositions that I gave you. That’s homework!

"Friends And Friendship"
Tuesday 18th November, 2014
Hello! How are you? How’s the week going?
Well, it’s nearly the weekend. Let’s go back to
last Tuesday and remember what we did in class!
First, we corrected and started organizing our
news programme.
We have made some
changes. Marcos isn’t going
to talk about ‘Economy’. That’s an important section but we have to admit
that it’s also veeery boring! He’ll
be in charge of ‘Leisure’ which sounds much funnier. He’s going
to tell us about films and other ways of spending the weekend. So, Marcos,
what’s coming on the cinemas?
Our
presenter is a bit distracted and he has
to prepare his part better. He also should write the script (the things he’s going to say).
The sections
of ‘Current Affairs’, ‘Society’, ‘Sports’ and ‘Weather’ seem to be more or less
ready. We just have to improve them and rehearse.(practise)
On this link, you can have ideas for your news programme. They are in English and they are easy to understand.
Then, we talked and listened about ‘Best friends’.
We answered to some questions in pairs and
then we listened to Donna talking about her best friend, Carla.
For homework, write about your best friend
following this pattern; in the same way that Donna did.
My best
friend is _____. We live ___________ each other and we go to ___________. (Name)_____ is ___________ and _____________. (Describe him/her)
When _______________ leaves school, he/she wants to be _____________ because
______________. We like (things you like doing together)__________ together.
At the
weekend, we (activities
together)_________with (friends, family etc.)_____. I think we
are best friends because _______________. I like _____________ because
__________. My friend _________ is one of the most important people in my life
because __________.
We read the story that we are writing together. We read the three parts that we have, so far.
Alicia wrote her part but she has to post it on the blog.
And Guille worked very hard and brought us a song for us to listen and fill in the gapped lyrics. Thank you Guille! Well done!
The song
is so romantic! “All of me” by John

Let's Finish Talking about Fireworks!
Tuesday 11th November, 2014
Hi everybody! How are things? Is it Ok?
What did we do on Tuesday?
We finished
listening to the song by Katie Perry. ‘Fireworks’
We matched two columns of words and later we filled in the gaps (completed the
spaces) with the words we had matched before. After that, we
listened to the song again and read it aloud so as to practice pronunciation.
You could have sung instead of read but it seems you didn’t feel like that! I I
don’t sing very well either!
And finally, we tried to understand the meaning
of the song. It says that sometimes you feel sad or a little unhappy (paper
thin, buried deep) but there is always a solution for problems and you can be
happy again. (Brighter than the moon). The song is about our moods; sometimes
happy, sometimes, sad.
We told the story of Guy Fawkes following the
pictures.
We also asked and answered questions about it.
We talked about fireworks.
·
When do you have fireworks in your country?
·
What are you celebrating?
·
What happens?
·
What other festivals do you celebrate?
We have fireworks on New Year’s Eve (31st
December), on Saint
John’s Night (24th June) and on the fiestas of the different towns and cities.
We celebrate the
beginning of the year, the longest
day of the year and the patron saints
of villages, towns and cities.
Remember that it would be a
good idea that you wrote these things on the blog. Remember to answer with
whole sentences!
We have decided to prepare an
exercise with different songs every week.
Guillermo is bringing the lyrics of a song he
likes. Delete some words from the lyrics and we’ll listen to it and try to fill
in the gaps in class. The song has to be in English, of course!!!
We missed one chapter of our story! Alicia is
going to write the following chapter this week.
1 comentario: Thank you Sara, well done! You get 2 points for next day for writing the story on the blog.
At night they started to hear strange noises outside the house, and began
to feel very nervous. The noises said "um, um, um, grum, grom, grum",
and suddenly the door opened. There wasn't anyone at the door!!!!!!, so
they went out and started to run to the forest. In the forest a magical force
caught Guille and Alice, and they started to shout at the other guys...
We watched the video that Sara and Alicia’s
school recorded last year for the graduation party. It was “Lip dub” It was
great. But as
everything in life, it needs a lot of planning and preparation.
We started talking about our best friends.
We worked in pairs and interview each other
trying to find out the following:
·
What’s your best friend’s name?
·
Where did you meet?
·
Why are you
best friends?
·
How old is
your best friend?
·
How often do you see each other?
·
What is your favourite activity together?
We explained what Pantomime is. We have the
opportunity to see a pantomime performance in Madrid. We gave you a piece of
paper with the information about dates and prices, in case you would like to go
to the show.
Pantomime
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Pantomime (informally panto),
is a type of musical
comedy stage production, designed for family
entertainment. It was developed in England and is generally performed during
the Christmas and New Year season. Modern pantomime includes songs, slapstick
comedy and dancing, employs gender-crossing actors, and combines topical humour
with a story loosely based on a well-known fairy tale.[1] It
is a participatory form of theatre, in which the audience is expected to sing
along with certain parts of the music and shout out phrases to the performers.
Pantomime has a
long theatrical history in Western culture dating back to classical theatre,
and it developed partly from the 16th-centurycommedia dell'arte tradition of
Italy, as well as other European and British stage traditions, such as
17th-century masques.[1] An
important part of the pantomime, until the late 19th century, was the harlequinade.
The pantomime is performed today throughout Britain and, to a lesser extent, in
other English-speaking countries.
For homework: you have two look for (search) or make up (invent) two pieces of news for our News Programme. We have to
start correcting and rehearsing.
Write the information and look up the words you don’t know in the
dictionary or on the web! Please don’t bring a paragraph with three
or four words missing in each line…
This week we changed our system for getting
points. Instead of adding points, I subtracted them for speaking in class or
not paying attention. This is the result

Remember, remeber, the 5th November!!!
Tuesday 4th November, 2014
Hello! How are you?
We started the class with a “Talk Show” program.
It was a different way of correcting homework.
One of you was the presenter
and another one was the guest. (Invited person)
We started like this:
Good afternoon and welcome to our program. This
afternoon we are going to talk about last weekend, Halloween. Our guest
is George. Welcome to our program.
So, tell us, George, how did you celebrate Halloween?
Did
you wear Halloween costumes? What did you do? What
time did you get back home? Etc.
It was surprising to know that some of you were little hooligans! You mustn’t throw
eggs! That’s not funny! And as you told me, somebody can be hurt.
We started listening to a song
by Kate Perry, “Firework” and we talked about Guy Fawkes.
This is the story of “Bonfire Night” or “Guy
Fawkes Night” .
Remember, remember, 5th of November.
Then, María continued the story.
…in the chest, there was a magic book. Nobody knew
what to do with the book. After a while they decided to take it to the village
and tell the other inhabitants. Together, they decided to take the things to
the museum of the old village.
When it started to get dark, Lucía, Sara,
Marcos, Alex, Alicia, Guille and María went home and had dinner all together.
At night they started to hear strange noises outside the house and began to
feel very nervous…
TO BE CONTINUED …by Guille.
Guille will write next week. Try to do it on the
blog.
After that we decided on our end of term project. We agreed on making a news programme. This is
going to be our group of journalists and reporters.

enjoyed the experience. It was quite interesting.
For homework, do the exercises on the photocopy
I gave you. Match the sentences to the pictures, page 15 and answer the
