Tuesday 23rd
September, 2014
Hi! So, this is the beginning of
our new course. Welcome everybody!
We started
introducing each other with a game.
After that, we split (divided)
into pairs and we interviewed our
classmate. We made questions such as:
·
Where do you live?
·
How do you spell your surname?
·
What year are you in?
·
What’s your favourite subject?
·
How many brothers and sisters do you
have?
·
Do you have a pet?
·
What kind of music/food/TV
programme…do you like?
·
What’s your favourite colour?
Can you remember something about your classmates?
We reviewed
vocabulary for clothes and physical description so as to play a game. In this game we had to ask 10 “yes/no” questions
and guess who the person was. At first, the mystery person was a classmate but
later, we used the board game characters.
We started talking
about celebrations. We described some
photos and talked about what we thought the celebration was. It seems to me (I think) that
your favourite celebration is BIRTHDAYS!!!
And also May 1st because it’s a long bank holiday (not bridge!) and the weather is good because it’s spring.
To talk about festivals and
celebrations we need to review dates. Remember that in English we use ordinal
numbers for the dates. You have some links and exercises below:
Your homework this
week consists in writing 5 sentences about a
celebration or a festival. For example:
I celebrate Christmas with my parents, my brother and his family. We
have dinner together on Christmas Eve. My mother cooks a special meal and we
drink champagne. The kids drink Coke because it’s a special night. We go to
sleep and in the morning we find presents under the Christmas tree. I love
Christmas.
Don’t forget to do homework
either in your notebook or on the blog. And remember you can use the blog to
tell us what you did during the week or at the weekend or what things do you do
/ like etc. Parents’ contributions are also welcome. Bye
See you next Tuesday!
