Fireworks!!!! In,on at, for Time

Tuesday 7th October, 2014

Hello everybody! How are things? Fine? Great!!!

We started the class talking about our last weekend.

·         Where did you go? I went to the park with my friends.
·         Where did Lucía go? She went to the shopping mall.
·         Who did she go with? She went with her friends.
·         When did they go there? They went on Saturday.
·         What did they do? They bought fancy dresses for Halloween!

Then we checked  homework! Well done!

These are some of the words you learnt: Best man, church, ring, wedding dress,
bride, groom, bouquet,

We did a matching exercise in pairs. It consisted in matching words with the festival or celebration. And we did a competition to solve a crossword.

Do you remember these definitions?

On New Year’s Eve we stay up until this time.
·         We send these to family at Christmas and on birthdays.
·         They are loud and colorful and we use them to celebrate special occasions.
·         They are sweet and we often eat them on special occasions, like Christmas.
·         This orange vegetable is popular at Halloween.
·         People often put these up around the house at Christmas.
·         People give these flowers to say “I love you”.
Resolutions, decorations, Boxing Day, fireworks, ghosts, cards, midnight, chocolates, pumpkin.

We revised prepositions ‘in, on, at’ for time. Remember:
In/on/at for time
I was born on Saturday on25th in December in 1991 in winter in the morning at /on (American English) the weekend at 9p.m.

Practise the prepositions in hereIn, On, At ...
And we ended the class playing “Stop”. Boys, you need to improve!
